This policy explains how personal information is handled through gemmahobbrealestate.ca, the website of Gemma Hobb Real Estate, The Associates Collective Inc. Gemma Hobb and Maria Shettler provide real estate services through Sotheby’s International Realty Canada. References to we, us and our in this policy refer to the website’s operation and enquiry handling.
Information you choose to share
When you make an enquiry, the form collects your name, email address and any phone number, location, property interests or message you provide. A newsletter request collects your email address and your consent. We use this information to respond to your request, discuss the services you have asked about and, where you have subscribed, send newsletters and property updates. Please do not send identity documents, financial records, access codes or other sensitive information through these forms.
Enquiries and introductions
Website enquiries are stored through Netlify, our website and form hosting provider, so they can be reviewed and answered. Information may be accessed by the advisor handling your request and authorised support personnel where needed for that purpose. If your enquiry concerns Maria, please identify her in your message or contact her directly. Where you request an introduction to another advisor or professional, we will discuss the information needed for that introduction with you. Information may also be disclosed where required or permitted by applicable law.
Your communication choices
Submitting an enquiry does not subscribe you to our newsletter. Newsletter subscriptions use a separate consent checkbox. You can withdraw your newsletter consent at any time by contacting Gemma at the address below or using the unsubscribe option in a marketing email. Withdrawing marketing consent does not prevent us from responding to an enquiry you make or sending communications needed for an ongoing transaction.
Website services and embedded content
Our hosting provider may process technical information such as your IP address, browser details and request logs to deliver and protect the website. Form information and technical data may be processed outside Canada and be subject to the laws of the relevant country. Contact Gemma if you would like information about the service providers used to handle your enquiry. The contact panel opens WhatsApp or your email application only when you choose that option. Those services handle your message under their own privacy terms.
Videos, magazines and external links
Property videos use YouTube embeds and magazine features use Issuu. When embedded content loads or you interact with it, these providers may receive technical information and use cookies or similar technologies under their own privacy policies. Browser privacy settings can limit cookies, although some features may be affected. External websites, including brokerage websites and social platforms, have their own privacy practices. You can also contact us directly if you prefer not to use embedded features.
Care and retention of information
Personal information should be retained only for as long as needed to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected and to meet applicable legal, regulatory and record keeping obligations. Reasonable safeguards are used to protect information, but no website or email service can guarantee complete security. Transaction records handled by the brokerage are subject to its policies and applicable retention requirements.
Access, corrections and privacy questions
You may contact Gemma to request access to or correction of your personal information, discuss withdrawal of consent, ask about retention or raise a privacy concern. Requests are subject to applicable legal requirements and exceptions. We may need to confirm your identity before providing personal information. If your request concerns records held by the brokerage, we can direct you to its privacy contact.
